Designated Fund

A Designated Fund is a restricted, endowed fund held by the Foundation in which the donor specifies fund beneficiaries at the time the fund is established. The designated fund is invested for long-term growth and distributes annual grants to those charities named by the donor. Designated funds offer a simple way to support your favorite charities in perpetuity. Grants can be made in your name, or in anonymity.

Solomon Valley Community Foundation accepting grant applications

The Solomon Valley Community Foundation is now accepting applications for fall grants. Online applications are available now and due August 1, 2019. Over $50,000 is available to charitable projects in Mitchell County. Grants will be awarded from the following funds: Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund – available for programs and projects that address education, health care, community social services and security, conservation and environment, arts and culture, and community beautification.Community Impact Fund for Solomon Valley – available for projects that improve the quality of life for Mitchell County residents. Community foundation awards scholarships

The Solomon Valley Community Foundation has awarded over $2,000 in scholarships to area students. The Fine Arts Future Development Summer Camp Scholarship is for junior and senior high school students in the Solomon Valley area, including Mitchell, Cloud and Jewell Counties, who are pursuing a summer music or art camp. Samantha Zimmerman, Beloit, received a $300 scholarship. The Fine Arts Future Development Higher Education Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors in the Solomon Valley area, including Mitchell, Cloud, and Jewell Counties, that are pursuing a major in instrumental music or art.
