Fall grant applications available June 1

The Solomon Valley Community Foundation is seeking applications for fall grants. Online applications will be available June 1 and are due August 1, 2018. Grants will be funded through the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, with $50,000 available for charitable projects and programs that address education, health care, community social services and security, conservation and environment, arts and culture, and community beautification. Nonprofit organizations, government and public entities, educational institutions and churches are encouraged to apply. Scholarship recipients announced

The Solomon Valley Community Foundation has awarded over $1,800 in scholarships to area students. The Fine Arts Future Development Summer Camp Scholarship is for junior and senior high school students in the Solomon Valley area, including Mitchell, Cloud and Jewell Counties, who are pursuing a summer music or art camp. Makenna Stauffer, Glen Elder, received a $394 scholarship, and Jasmine Blue and Samantha Zimmerman, both of Beloit, each received a $250 scholarship.
