Designated Fund

A Designated Fund is a restricted, endowed fund held by the Foundation in which the donor specifies fund beneficiaries at the time the fund is established. The designated fund is invested for long-term growth and distributes annual grants to those charities named by the donor. Designated funds offer a simple way to support your favorite charities in perpetuity. Grants can be made in your name, or in anonymity.

Community foundation awards scholarships

Community foundation awards scholarships BELOIT, Kan.— The Solomon Valley Community Foundation has awarded over $2,000 in scholarships to area students for the upcoming academic year. This includes three scholarships that are being renewed for recipients from previous years. The Fine Arts Future Development Higher Education Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors in the Solomon Valley area, including Mitchell, Cloud, and Jewell Counties, who are pursuing a major in instrumental music or art. Tyler Long, Beloit, received a $600 scholarship, and Elizabeth Duvall, Concordia, received a $400 scholarship. Solomon Valley Community Foundation accepting grant applications

BELOIT, Kan.— The Solomon Valley Community Foundation is now accepting applications for fall grants. Online applications open July 1 and are due August 1, 2020. Last fall, a community foundation grant was awarded to the Hunter Economic Development Corporation to purchase a new community sign. This sign contributes to getting events and news out to the community in a timely, effective manner.
