Solomon Valley Community Foundation awards fall grants

BELOIT, Kan.— During its fall grant cycle, the Solomon Valley Community Foundation awarded over $40,000 in grants to 12 projects throughout Mitchell County. The following organizations received funding:

  • USD 273, for two new outdoor classroom areas.
  • Tipton Catholic High School, for classroom laptops.
  • Boost Ministries Foundation, to purchase video and audio equipment for the sanctuary.
  • Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems, to add two technology carts for resident use.
  • St. John the Baptist Catholic School, to create an outdoor learning area for students.
  • City of Beloit, for equipment improvements of the Westside Park Curva.
  • NCK Wellness Center, Inc., to add Pickleball programs to the center.
  • Tipton Community School, Inc., for staff and students needs in the auditorium.
  • Heart Choices, to replace the sign.
  • Beloit Youth Football, Inc., to purchase shadowman sports blocking and tackling field equipment
  • Beloit United Methodist Church, to purchase a wireless microphone system.
  • Mitchell County Communities That Care, Inc., to support the “Summer Kids Café” program.

This round of grants was made possible by the community foundation’s Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, which supports projects and programs that improve the community’s quality of life. The foundation’s next grant cycle will open December 1, with applications due February 1, 2021. For more information, visit
