SVCF Announces $25,000 in matching funds for new Give to Grow event

Solomon Valley Community Foundation is excited to announce their newest event Give to Grow, a one day matching initiative aimed at increasing visibility and long term endowment growth for area nonprofits.

As a result of a successful November Match Month campaign, and with the support of the Patterson Family Foundation, SVCF has set aside $25,000 in matching funds for qualifying nonprofits participating in this year’s Give to Grow event.

Give to Grow will be held on Wednesday, April 24th from 11am - 7pm at the Beloit Municipal Building. SVCF invites community members throughout Mitchell County to attend. There will be over 20 area nonprofits onsite, in addition to food trucks, hourly giveaways, live music, refreshments and more!

Donor gifts received during the event will be matched proportionately, up to 100% from Solomon Valley Community Foundation’s $25,000 match pool. In addition, hourly giveaways sponsored by area businesses will provide even more opportunities for patrons to select a nonprofit to benefit.

In conjunction with SVCF’s youth engagement initiative all 102 Mitchell County 5th graders from Beloit Elementary, St. John’s, Lakeside, and Tipton Community School will be bussed in for the event as well. Thanks to generous donations from Guaranty State Bank and SMC Concrete & Construction, each student will be provided $20 in Give to Grow monopoly money so that they too can participate in the giving.

SVCF Executive Director Julia Rabe had this to say, “We are so excited to kick off this event! Our area nonprofits do so much for our communities. SVCF is honored to be able to partner with them to promote their missions and help build long-term endowments.”

If you are unable to attend Give to Grow in person, but are still interested in participating, donations can be made online, by mail, or by utilizing an existing SVCF Donor Advised Fund.
