Fine Arts Future Development Scholarship

The Fine Arts Future Development Scholarship supports two different areas of study:

  • Higher education for graduating seniors
  • Summer music camp for junior high or high school students

Eligibility criteria for each area of study is very different.  Please see the eligibility requirements for the area that you wish to apply below.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

AMOUNT:  Varies

GEOGRAPHIC LIMITATIONS:
Students graduating from a high school in the Solomon Valley area, including Mitchell, Cloud and Jewell Counties.

CRITERIA:

  • Applicants are in good standing to qualify for graduation from an accredited high school in the Solomon Valley area, including Mitchell, Cloud and Jewell Counties.
  • Applicants intend to major in Instrumental Music or Art, at an accredited College, College for the Performing Arts, or Conservatory of the Arts. In the event there are no instrumental music majors or art majors, other broader music and art majors, including but not limited to music education, vocal music, music therapy, art design, etc. shall be considered.
  • Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Applicants shall be involved in Music and/or Art extra-curricular activities, such as League Art competitions, Regional/State music contests, etc.
  • Applicants must submit an essay of 200 words or less on what Music and/or Art means to them and their plans for their career in Music and/or Art.
  • Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from their Music or Art Teacher.
  • Music applicants shall submit a recorded selection of solo piece, whether instrumental or vocal.
  • Art applicants shall submit photos of three works completed in year of application.

RENEWALS:
Scholarship recipients may reapply as part of the total applicant pool.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR SUMMER FINE ARTS CAMP

AMOUNT:  Varies

GEOGRAPHIC LIMITATIONS: Students from a junior high or high school in the Solomon Valley area, including Mitchell, Cloud and Jewell Counties.

CRITERIA:

  • Applicants are in good standing and enrolled in an accredited high school or junior high school in the Solomon Valley area, including Mitchell, Cloud and Jewell Counties.
  • Applicants must participate in Art or Music at such high school or junior high school, with preference to instrumental music.
  • Applicants must submit an essay sharing their need for the scholarship.
  • Applicants shall submit a letter of recommendation from their Music or Art Teacher.
