Solomon Valley Community Foundation Awards Fall Grants

MITCHELL CO, KAN. During its fall grant cycle, the Solomon Valley Community Foundation awarded over $30,000 in grants to 9 projects through Mitchell County. The following organizations received funding:

  • American Legion Post 57, for the purchase of a flag, and flagpole storage shed.
  • Beloit Area Concert Association (via Mitchell County Strong) for the establishment of their 501(c)(3) status.
  • Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6242, for the purchase of emergency medical equipment.
  • Mitchell County EMS, for the purchase of a training manikin.
  • USD 273, for admission of Beloit Elementary students to the traveling Body Venture exhibit.
  • Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation, for improvements to the Specialty Clinic.
  • Tipton Recreation, Inc. for improvements to the Tipton Oaks golf course.
  • City of Beloit, for the establishment of a pickleball court in Chautauqua Park.
  • Tipton Christian School, Inc. for the purchase of robotics kits.

This round of grants was made possible by the community foundation’s Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, which supports projects and programs that improve the community’s quality of life.
