With the overwhelming success of Mitchell County Strong, SVCF started to explore additional opportunities to take on greater roles in community and economic development efforts and as such, applied to participate in the Kansas Community Philanthropy Innovators Network (CPIN).
In March of 2016 the Dane G. Hansen Foundation announced the launch of their Match Month initiative which gave local community foundations the opportunity to maximize donations by receiving a match on the first $50,000 raised locally.
In 2016, the communities of Simpson and Glasco received word that lifetime resident, neighbor, and friend, James “Buddy” Louthan, made a generous decision that would forever impact their communities.
