Solomon Valley Community Foundation accepting grant applications

BELOIT, Kan.— The Solomon Valley Community Foundation is now accepting applications for spring grants. Online applications are available December 1 and due February 1, 2022.

Last year, the community foundation awarded Tipton Catholic High School a grant to support the addition of laptops to be utilized for the yearbook class. With this funding, they were able to purchase two laptops for the Tipton Catholic yearbook students.

“The yearbook laptops were immediately put to good use by our students,” said grantee Gery Hake. “They have been a blessing and have handled the work required beautifully. The yearbook class was able to distance themselves and still get the required work done for our class.”

Over $50,000 is available to charitable projects in Mitchell County. Grants will be awarded from the following two funds:

  • Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund – available for programs and projects that address education, health care, community social services and security, conservation and environment, arts and culture, and community beautification.
  • Community Impact Fund for Solomon Valley – available for projects that improve the quality of life for Mitchell County residents.

Grants are limited to communities in the Solomon Valley service area and will be awarded through a competitive application process. Nonprofit organizations, government and public entities, educational institutions and churches are encouraged to apply. Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on February 1.
